I would of thought you get that from a dealer/indie all day long? Easier than selling it private.
Have you had people view the car or phone calls yet?

Then again I wouldn't change it just after paying out for repairs either. I find it really strange the number of people that get a load of work done on an older car and then part-exchange the car because it was 'unreliable'.
Plus there is a lot to be said for owning your car ...

Cheers guys,
I'll mention it to the garage. I was just thinking they haven't lasted very long was all and made me wonder about the workmanship of the previous garage etc

I have a 2001 4.4 and I'm in a similar mindset to you.
Don't know how you finance your cars but they have some cracking PCP and lease deals available at the moment. Plus the smaller engine cars have improved so much they are as fast or faster than my 4.4.
I'm starting to lean towards these options ...

Re: Shudder while braking
I had this issue and it was the lower wishbone on drivers side and that seemed to fix the problem.
Mine was flagged up on the MOT.
Good luck.

Rocker Gasket Life Expectency
Hi Guys,
About 3-4 years ago I had my local BMW indie replace the Rocker Gasket seals as they were leaking.
I've just had a service by NON BMW indie and they've said the Rocker Gaskets are leaking. Am I wrong in thinking these should of lasted more than 3-4 years?
The garage said maybe they didn ...

Re: Reupholstering Front Leather Seats
My local BMW dealer use this company http://www.trimtechnik.net for any trim changes/repairs.. apparently they use the same leather or better if you prefer.
Raj - I've read your build thread a few times.. very impressive.. i'd love to show our X5 that amount of love!

Re: ££ Timing chain ££
I actually just came on the site to look for info on the timing chain and saw this post.
My question was are you meant to change them? I was under the impression that the X5 is meant to be for the life of the vehicle due to them being metal? or have I made that up?
I'm also with you regards to ...

Servicing Question
Quick question..
My cars not starting, I'm assuming its the battery as its just making the clicking noise..
Im onto the last bar on the service notification and it says just below bars.. "Oil service"..
Is this the standard message when its due a service? its only just happened so can't really ...

Cheers Guys,
All good points.
My friend is going with the gap insurance via the dealer so said he's not to worried as will be covered financially.
Suppose thing I wouldn't like is thought of some breaking in your house! scary stuff.
