The purpose is detrimental to the car, many many cars have had turbo failures due to clogged dpfs. It's like the car is trying to exhale through a straw. Can't be good

Only buy a car that has been serviced regularly 10k miles otherwise there are many cases of bottom end failure.

You know im interested to know what's the difference between the M57 and N57 in terms of the crankshaft, conrods, the bearing tolerances. If you go on Facebook there are literally several X5s, 7 series for sale due to bearing failure.

I owned a 35d for 6 years and the local driving mpg figures are pretty poor. On short runs between 16-18mpg
On slightly longer 22mpg. Long time on motorway around 32mpg. Pretty poor for a diesel. What does swing it in its favour is it's performance and robustness. The N57 It's not just the timing ...

The SD is a twin turbo 3 litre diesel. Very good engine too.
Good power and torque, bullet proof too

You done really well adricky, the N57 is really sensitive to oil changes. Plenty of bottom end failures when long life servicing is followed. The M57 is different beast, teutonic.

Just an update the camera had failed due to water ingress. Fitted a new camera bought from the stealers. £410 in total

Yea I can imagine your pretty much in the teens all the time doing 13 to 14mpg.

The G05 is a very good riding car, as good as the latest gen Q7, which rides like an S class. I don't think the ride on 22s will be an issue they have decent side walls.

Your X6 looks really nice. Great colour combo, they are a sharp driving SUV.
