Just remapped the X5

Post by kjb1 » Sat Jun 07, 2014 12:17 pm

Drivability is waay better!! no smoke, smoother throughout rev range, and performance is fantastic!! claimed 265bhp from 232, didn't want any more, other tuners offer more gains but as far as I am concerned at what cost??? sensible map all the way!!

Zaviz used for the file.

Just remapped the X5

Post by kjb1 » Sat Jun 07, 2014 5:54 pm

certainly is!! the pickup off the boot is hilarious.  Just had some gonk in an Octavia vrs on an 09' plate, up my backside, on a hill where eventually it tee's off into two lanes.  Let him stay right behind me nice and gently, then as he pulled out from millimetres behind my rear bumper to overtake, floored it!!! and left him in outside lane going nowhere!! ( wife wasn't too impressed though ;)

will report back in due course.  Purely for how much nicer it drives I would HIGHLY recommend it.  It has lost that slight sluggishness to get up and go!! feels on the power all round far more.

[/quote]It was probably the diesel VRS, I doubt you would of got away from the TFSI version.

Just remapped the X5

Post by kjb1 » Mon Jun 09, 2014 8:27 am

really? a 200ps octavia tfsi? 0-60 in 7.2?? We were doing 35mph approaching hill.  I booted it as soon as lane splits when i saw him pull out inches from my bumper.  267bhp and 582nm torque claimed from the map.  I think its easily capable.

I have had my fair share of fast cars, M3 CS being one, SAAB 93 aero 2.0T, Golf GTI 1.8T mapped, 525d lci remapped, and I can honestly say this X5 is no slouch!! think where we were in the band of power and rolling at 35mph I would have eaten either of them!!!

Octavia has 282nm of torque worth noting, which X5 remapped has nigh on double!! I think both versions would have been licked!! and if anything the diesel would have stood a better chance if it was the 170!!!

I'd go with that.  Even in standard form the E53 is no slouch and can frighten more than a few hot hatches.  The vRS is no slouch either but that extra torque on yours gives you plenty of edge.... :)

E70 here ;)
But agreed, Vrs is no slouch in either version, however up a hill where we were the torque wins every time!!
