rear air spring air suspension

Post by pcdee » Tue Jun 17, 2014 5:30 pm

Hello all

I have a leek on the rear air spring air suspension, I have sourced a part but unsure what one out of the 2 it will be.
BMW say its the sports suspension one although I thought all 7 seaters had self-leveling on the rear due to extra load.

Realoem has both part numbers on there for my vehicle.

I have the 20" wheel package if that helps.

Thanks

Perhaps a different vegetable would make things easier?

Okay.....for anyone in the future in my situation.

I bought the air springs from areosus.com (Germany).  One part covered all oem part numbers.
Ordered 2 springs on Wednesday and they arrived Thursday! !!
Including shipping is cost me £225 for both.
Had them fitted at Mr Clutch today for £90, job done and well happy [emoji1]

Right....just got a phone call.
Nsr has a split as and osr is fine.  They have put one of my good one back in as only one failed originally as a temporary measure.
They said the bag is faulty

Interesting to hear that you had a faulty spring.......had mine replaced a few weeks ago by BMW only to notice a few days later that the black rubber was caught between the body and the chassis......back to BMW and they said it was a faulty spring and had to order and fit a new one.

Are these things that prone to failure or is it just a dodgy batch or fitting?
