Reupholstering Front Leather Seats

Post by dark_stranger » Wed Feb 24, 2016 11:32 am

As we all know, over time, the front leather seats start to look a little sorry for themselves.  Has anyone bothered reupholstering them?

no..

But if you have heated seats I believe this is "built in" to the cover....
So would need to have original covers to keep it...
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

Yes I've had the full interior retrimmed on mine a few years ago now. It's all in my build thread lol.

Even with front/rear heating it's not an issue as the heating elements are seperate.

Found your build thread and noticed that you also installed coilovers, but whilst searching for your build thread, also noticed that you sold the coil overs at a later date.  How come? as that's one job I want to eventually do, that 20" rims & spacers.

My local BMW dealer use this company http://www.trimtechnik.net for any trim changes/repairs.. apparently they use the same leather or better if you prefer.

Raj - I've read your build thread a few times.. very impressive.. i'd love to show our X5 that amount of love!
