Fairly new to the M50d

Hi all,
I've been lurking on this forum for a few months and took delivery of my brand new car end of March.
So far so good and loving every moment of this awesome beast. It has everything I wanted, having had Jags for the last 6 years - power, speed, all terrain driving (currently on winter tyres) and pure luxury driving. I'm very impressed with the performance and mpg - currently getting between 30 to 35mpg on my daily 50 mile commute on mainly A roads. Saying that I am getting better mpg on my 20" winters rather than my 21" RFT. I have noticed that the car does eat tyres extremely quickly which is the only negative point. My X6 (not an M50d version) went through its first set of tyres (Dunlop) in just 14,000 miles which was very poor.  I have Bridgestone on now for Summer and Pirelli for Winter.  The Pirelli’s have last very well and I am still on the original winter set I bought in 2010 (the car only does 5k a year now).

I was surprised just how fast the RFTs wore out, and others have had similar experiences with their X cars.  My E53 was much kinder to its tyres by comparison.

I have a 2015 F15 X5 3.0DM Sport on 20" Continental OE RFT and have just replaced them at 22,600mls. Only changed them then because the NSR wore through to the cord on the inside shoulder and would certainly have got 30,000mls otherwise, as had 2.5mm RTD on Fronts and 3.5mm RTD on rears.
I suspect that perhaps the NSR had been very slightly under inflated at some point. It seems that wear on the inside rears can be an issue and I will be operating the replacement Conti RFT's with pressures about 5PSI above recommendations.
I had wanted to replace with Michelin RFT's but unfortunately there are no 315/35R20" RFT's available yet.

On my first X5 35d (E70) I found it went through front tyres quickly due to the toeing in that caused uneven wear.
Conversely on my second X5 30d (F15) I had the same tyres for the 4 years I had the car, though my mileage is low (circa 25k in total).

On my current x5 M50d (F15) its too early to say, but a puncture within the first 1000 miles has already meant a new tyre.

Loving the M50d, full of power that I don't need. Haven't changed to winter tyres as I don't use the car for my commute and am based in London where conditions are usually kinder. Particularly enjoying the adaptive cruise control and HUD which are new toys to me. Will be hard to go back.

Fortunately I managed to get a deal from a seller on this site and saved myself about £400 on the cost of all four so in this instance I'm happy.

I can see tyres being the bulk of the running costs on these cars, heavy and driven fast and enthusiastically clearly don't do anything for tyre wear  )

We purchased our 2015 F15 X5 3.0D M Sport in June this year with 12K on the speedo. The Smoke White Comfort seats are absolutely brilliant and with the Carbon Black paintwork this is what did it for us. Looks the same spec as yours. We are getting 33-34 Mpg, regardless of how we drive it, although we don't thrash it, just enjoy driving it at relevant speed limits and using the oomph to overtake local tractors and slower HGV's.
The ride and drive are superb while the delivery of the torque available for overtaking is just great, even more so given the weight of the car. You can see that we are very pleased with our X5  .
Just a quick question, where did you get your floor mats from, they look pretty smart!

Silverbeemersurfer the mats are all weather mats purchased from my dealership when I collected the car. I use these for the winter only as they are really easy to clean and keep the carpet mats for summer.
