Headlight cleaning
I've just pulled the trigger on a 4.6, and I know the headlights will bug me until they are sorted.
What's the best method of getting rid of the cloudy finish, is it wet and dry and then a polish, or is there a better method out there, ( pics would be good ).
Or of course I could just change the complete units, if so, which are the ones to go for.
Another thing I might be tempted to do is add the side steps, but I'm not sure about this, I might live with it as it is for a while and see if it grows on me without them, but if I don't is this an easy enough job to do, and if so, what parts do I need.
That's it for now, but I'm sure it won't be the last question I'll be asking

Re: Headlight cleaning
I finally got to view and test drive today, what I was not aware of was that it's also had the timing chain done as well.
Needs a few bits done, but what car of this age doesn't

Re: Headlight cleaning
I had great results on my Mazda MX-5 with this stuff from Halfords.
https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-c ... s-plast-rx
I wiped the headlamps first, although you should really wash them but I was only planning a quick test, masked the surrounding paint and then used a microfibre pad and water spray. Final polish with a micro fibre cloth and they’re still good 3 months later. No machine and about 10 mins per side.
Only thing with the Mazda is the lights are recessed into the body slightly so the top edges are still iffy but yo7 don’t notice unless you’re right on top of it.

Re: Headlight cleaning
Ive used the 3M restoration kit on three cars all with excellent results, you do however need a good drill/ driver. Available on the bay....
