Bridgestone or Dunlop
Bridgestone or Dunlop
Folks, I know there are a few threads on tyres already, but has anyone run both Bridgestone and Dunlop that can give some feedback on the pro's and con's on each? I picked up a set of new wheels and need 4 new tyres. The Dunlop are coming in around £100 cheaper per set, so obviously I'd be keen to go with them. But if the Duellers last twice as long then a £100 saving would be insignificant!
Thanks in advance.

Re: Brdgestone or Dunlop
Mine had Bridgestone on to start with but had to soon change them because they were already very low but I've now got Runflat Dunlops fitted and very pleased with them, nice looking tyre also.
Are we talking 20 inch staggered like mine?
but after running a set of budget NON runflats for a short while on different wheels as soon as these are worn I'll be switching to some Toyo NON runflats.

Re: Brdgestone or Dunlop
Sorry, yup 20" staggered (177's).
You're not worried about the non star rating then?

Re: Brdgestone or Dunlop
I originally got the other wheels to try and solve an issue that I thought was wheel related (suspension issue in the end) so ran them for around a month with no problems whatsoever and the tyres were cheap Chinese shite. The ride quality was so much better that its made me want non runflats again and they are nearly half the price, 500 quid for a full set of Toyo's.Lyons wrote: Tue Jan 15, 2019 11:42 am Sorry, yup 20" staggered (177's).

Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
Fair enough! Pre-empting the next 15% code on ebay, I can get a set of Dunlops for £616.
Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
Wow thats a great price at around 150 per tyre but sounds too good to be true?? They should be around 900 quid normally. How do you get the code, is it offered via your Ebay inbox?Lyons wrote: Tue Jan 15, 2019 11:54 am Fair enough! Pre-empting the next 15% code on ebay, I can get a set of Dunlops for £616.
Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
If you keep an eye on the home page there’s a 10% or 15% code every month or so.
Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
Where are these tyres to start with (Ebay advert) as you’ll need around a 30% discount to get near your £616 if you start from £900 normal price.
Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
MyTyres seller I think from memory.
Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
Cheers I’ll take a look.
Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
I've currently got Dunlop Sport Maxx GT and I'll be looking at swapping all 4 of them in the next couple of months (20" staggered).
I've got very poor life out of them, partly due to BMWs slightly OTT camber/toe settings, so I'm interested in what other people are running too.

Re: Brdgestone or Dunlop
I am so scares of ruining something that thinking about getting non-run flat non star ratted wheels is very difficult. Also very rare to find someone with experience with non-staggered same size 4 corners 18" wheels with non RFT. I am willing to change a set to non-rft but transfer damaged limits me more than getting a flat.Digidick wrote: Tue Jan 15, 2019 11:49 amI originally got the other wheels to try and solve an issue that I thought was wheel related (suspension issue in the end) so ran them for around a month with no problems whatsoever and the tyres were cheap Chinese shite. Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop
Transfer boxes cost less than you guys pay for a set of tyres ...just saying ! So I wouldn't worry too much about it
