Ok so this has been here many times, ive done it before on my last car, i went to remove the screw that holfs the cylinder in place, the cover was missing so somebodys been in there before but i caanot find the bolt inside, was there a version wothout it, mines a december 2005 model

There should be a bolt.
Are you looking at the right angle as it is not right in front of you it's to the side of the hole.
Did mine on Tuesday last week.
