Hi
Just started getting turbo boost noises this week when easing off throttle or turning off engine.
And they are getting louder!
I do recall I was getting howling owl noises on a cold start up prior to this.
Is it a knackered turbo? Or a leak somewhere?

A leak in a hose be the first thing I’d check. It’s your cheapest option too.

Turbos going tend to sound a bit like an air raid siren with their whine as they spool up first thing and look for oil leaks as boost will be leaking if the pipe is leaking usually at the joins where o ring seals are worn and often at the intercooler ends .

I had a tweak around with some the hoses last night to make sure everything was located, took it for smoke test and it was performed on boost system and EGR system, no leaks...
The boost noises were not audible on journey to garage this morning, however a little whoosh noise was heard on ignition turn off.
