I am itching to get my car back on the road but need to stamp the VIN number back on the body before I can arrange a Vehicle Identity Check at a VOSA site .
Could someone please let me know where it is stamped on their E53 and approximately what size characters they are .
The fake one was on the drivers side inner wing arround the top of the suspension strut - is this the correct place - the police have ground all traces of the cloned number off so I am not sure where to stamp it .

mine are on drivers side strut casing facing forward and letters are 7mm tall.
