tail gate rattle
Has anyone found a good guide with pictures on what to adjust or stick or both to get rid of the blinkin rattles and knocking sounds? Thanks

1. Remove the plastic cover.
2. slacken the two nuts.
3. gently tap the bracket back a couple of mm.
4. re-tighten the nuts.
5. replace cover.
6. repeat process on the other bracket.

Fantastic, worked a treat, thank you. Also put some tape on U brackets of rear seats. All in all 5 mins to do the fix.....and 30 mins taking the trim apart to find the socket I dropped down that gap !! :-[

Re: tail gate rattle
Ahh. I had the tail gate rattling as well. First I tried tape as per advise from US forum, but after opening and closing several times the tape was spoiled and could start all over again.
Now I have adjusted the hinges as per above, and it worked. Thanks for this.
Do however still have 'something' rattling and this might be the back seats as pointed out.
Thanks for advising
Jens

Tailgate rattle drove me insane on my old E53 . Fortunately the new E70 is as quiet as a church mouse......................!
I hate rattles and squeaks so i fully sympathise.

Nat.

I adjusted mine yesterday as it was rattling. The drivers side wasn't actually latching into position so had to move the bracket out slightly. Latches ok now and no rattle

I took mine back to the dealer with the rattle, the technician said it sounded like I had the boot open!
Fine now.

My E53 tailgate area is rattling although everything is fixed properly. Drives me insane.
