I brought mine with FSH and some known faults ie rocket cover gaskets leaking, then to top it off, I caused some problems by putting different tyres on the rear compared to the back, BUT everytime I look down on people at traffic lights or roar through tunnels I seem to forget that it ever has problems, I even refer to her by name in conversation on occasion

Oil pressure sensor failed again!  Replaced

Mine had a car run into the rear bumper...just scuffed and killed (punched in) two parking sensors

Insurance job (non fault) will see it get a whole new bumper complete with a pro done colour code to the lower edge to mimic the "is" look. I'd painted mine already...so they'll do the same

New bumper...BMW said the scuff to the black bit was more trouble that it was worth to sort....i'm not paying so hey ho

check oil level pings occasionally after long run...but the oil level is fine :(

Well about 26 hrs now since I changed the oil filter housing gasket. So fingers crossed.
Has had right rear height sensor link arm on Tuesday. Replaced both rear tyres Saturday. Fixed folding mirror micro switch Sunday.
Replaced dash LCD screen Thursday last week.
Only had the car 3 weeks, oh and it's booked in for a new clutch on Tuesday. Did somebody say money pit?????

So I went to see mine today after i sent it back to the garage for an oil leak, the first week I got it I had 2 new rocker cover gaskets fitted and the new leak is on a bit at the  very front of the engine, it's almost the rocker cover but it's a small metal box sort of underneath the rocker cover gasket but imagine your looking directly at in from looking front on, i saw the new gasket which hopefully is getting fitted tomorrow, it's a half moon type gasket. Long story short still not sure if this problem was caused when they did the first gaskets or not but hey, new wheels arrived aswell today so they will go on tomorrow to. and then I just sit back and wait for the next thing. Ha

Cheapish but thankfully I budgeted to stick a grand into it in the first year. I've worked for a bmw Indy garage and know most BMWs need £500-£1000 spending each year. E46s,E39 high performance stuff seemed to be the worst.
The clutch is through choice it only slips a tiny bit if you floor it from 30 mph in 3rd or 4th. I'm towing over the next few weeks I couldn't risk a breakdown with the wife and kids with me. Has done 137000 so expect it needs one any way. I've just removed the CDV off the slave cylinder and it changes much nicer now, so with a new clutch should be spot on.

Oil leak fixed, new tyres and wheels on. No more trans fail safe prog!!!!  next problem or maybe not a problem, at slow speed I can hear the brakes rubbing sounds like rears and on turning sounds like fronts join in to. Is this sort of normal?

Well clutch changed and refitted CDV as it felt weird with the new clutch. However in true fashion osf door handle carrier broke yesterday. So repaired with cable ties using the guide on here and new carrier collected from BMW yesterday might get it fitted today if I finish work on time.
