Just to update, i had a trip to Devon and really enjoyed the drive. Its a huge beast and overtaking is charm. Did 500 miles on a tank and still little bit left. Parking is fun with top view camera and i got BMW loudspeaker system so music is great with good beats. Overall a happy x5 owner and thanks for help from all u guys

Wow only 500 miles on a 85 litre full tank is is a 3L diesel?

Sounds about right, I get a much lower MPG from my 62-x40d than I used to get from my 54-3.0d E53. Motorway on cruise. I had expected a small improvement given a much newer engine and 8-speed box but sadly not.

I don't get much more than that on my 40d either. Only seen 600 on a tank once and I was almost on fumes.... 
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
