Knock on front end ??

Getting a knock on the front end when I go over speed bumps,, but if I aplie brake slightly it is silent ?? Any ideas on we're to start looking to solve this or do they all make a slight noise when going over speed bumps??

One of the ball joints. Probably the lower one - a right pig to replace if its rusted in...
