Admittedly pics are not from today.
Its been great so far covering 5000 miles already effortlessly.
Only have one problem and thats the oil level reading too high.
Its been checked over with an oil change carried out and the garage says the sensor is faulty or it needs a software update.
He doesnt want to do a software update as the last one he done knacked the head unit as there is apparently a fault in BMWs update.
A blow out on the motorway last week resulted in new tyres for the front along with a hunter alignment.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Hope you enjoy it and I find the Hud is great feature to have on the car.

I wasnt sure what to expect but it is very handy.
I sometimes forget it is there and still look at the speedo as its not in your face.
Excellent for satnav directions and speed limit display

Check the oil level in the dipstick.  BMW often overfill - and then accuse you of having done it!  Mine had almost 1/2litre removed because the technician had put exactly what the book said in after a change, forgetting not all of it comes out at drain!

Been a while but after the E71 I got an F16 carbon black with not quite the same amount of extra features. Had it for 3 years and never really liked it, it wasn't a patch on the E71 and just didn't ever feel planted on the road.
That's now gone and I am the owner of an Arctic grey X5 40d 2021 model. Its fantastic and miles better than the F16.

Nice. I agree with your comment about the E71. I still have mine and the handling is very good for a car that size. Possibly because that version had the clever torque distribution system. It doesn’t get used much nowadays (especially with the current price of diesel!) but needs keeping as our i4 doesn’t have the legs or capacity to carry stuff.

We’re adding a used iX1 (her daily driver) to our stable this week, with a new iX3 due in the summer. At 16 years old, the X6 isn’t worth a lot now and our local dealer said hang on to it. They have a yard full of used part-ex’d BMW diesels that no one wants. No one is ordering new ones either.
