Here's my one!

Post by snrbrtsn » Thu Jan 12, 2017 8:52 pm

I came in a while ago, during that time I was heart set on a similar, e70 lci 4.0d, the desire never left after I pulled out the deal so several months on and after a long string of BMWs I found the car below. Having changed from the F07 (530 GT), Some would say a backwards step, to a point I'd agree, however having owned for several weeks it's a pleasant change from hatchback or saloon & Suitably specced from the individual bins
E70 LCi 4.0d
Ruby black with champagne merino leather and black stitching
Individual Audio
Pano roof
Adaptive lights c/w HBA
Electric boot etc etc!
All in it's a worth exchange and fantastically pleasing drive,
Early ownership had the shadowline & gloss black grilles changed, next on the list shall be towbar & enjoyment!

Oh interesting! I am currently considering a 40d with a few bits.

How is it for you?

That looks absolutely fantastic.

Are those wheels the standard E70 polished which have then been stripped and painted (coated or whatever)?

They really suit the car!

Re the wheels, std OEM fitment, striped and powder coated sterling silver
A bit of a change from the two tone diamond cut which is prone to corroding and whitening

I've not long since acquired, though doesn't take much to tarnish
The paintwork is almost like glass once washed, I'd assume the previous owner has spent considerable sums having machine polished. I'd normally attack with the DA though don't think there's a need.
I think it's helped by Individual paint, I'm sure it shall remain sparkling and shouldn't be too hard to maintain as I'm a bit OCD that way p!

The wheels look amazing, as does the car. I was thinking of doing the exact same thing to my alloys once they become a little scruffy. Think they look better in silver anyway on a black SUV.
Could you tell me where you had them done and price?

Cheers Fella

Not sure where the wheels were done, The pictures do them no justice, One of the Fronts has been poorly done, Ill wait to pick up scuffs before having them redone
I think your best option would be Lepsons, their saif to do a good job
There's a recently opened place, local to me that does 20" wheels for £270, the reviews are fantastic and the process explained professionally, They always have a back log which they freely show potential customers, So Ive duely noted for later in ownership but hope to never have to use.
