Xtrons Stereo

After 6 months in the box I am getting my Xtrons stereo fitted. I think the model is CE/HU/PF7153BS or CE/HU/PF7153BF.
Has anyone or is anyone using one. Hated having to buy the extension cable but the guy fitting it would be a disaster trying to make one.
Any comments on the stereo would be of assistance.
Thanks

The stereo sat in the house. Never got around to getting it sorted. I think the cable is around £60 or there abouts. taking the X5 on holidays next month so really should put the new stereo in.

Go for it, if you paid a few hundred quid for the headunit, and it's still in the box.£60 will be a cheap mod.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but my son has one of those fitted for just over a year, rarely uses the X but the CD has packed up, before warranty was up, he exchanged e-mails with them until finally the warrenty was up, after that no contact. He has decided to get one of those Android tilting screen ones. I've told him that by the time he's stopped pissing about he could have bought a Dynavin?
Having said all that, the Eonon one I have fitted in the VW has been fault free for over 5 years. So I suppose it's luck of the draw?

I have an Xtrons, same problem, CD just stopped working, just use the usb and memory stick, very fiddly to use, shame as it has a very good sound to it.
Could never get it to connect with my phone via Bluetooth, will change it at some point this year.

I had the CD fail on my Dynavin whilst in warranty . I had to send it back to the place I bought it from on EBay and they replaced the CD player and sent it back. Luckily I bought it from their UK dealers and not direct from China.

Well Colin it went to the tune of £190. Sounds good but the mapping system is crap. Also the voice quality when speaking on the phone has been reported as poor, like standing at the other side of the room. The system does not support an external mic so that's my lot. The sound is not bad which surprised me.
I have been told the system supports TomTom maps so if anyone has them on an sd card or can copy them for me before 15.08.17 that would be great as I am heading on holidays.

The insatalled maps I received with my Dynavin on Micro SD card was rubbish, I can't recall the name.(edit,Sygic)
I got an SD card with IGO 8 Primo Western Europe on it and used that. Easy install had to replace the SD card obviously then go into settings and change the "Navigation Path my system was Win CE 6.
The IGO. Apps are as good as tom tom, apart from the speed camera warning tone.
I couldn't manage to get Tomtom on SD card for win CE 6. Maybe different now, but I read they weren't compatable. Also had an aftermarket satnav headunit in the Golf that ran win CE and had IGO 8 Primo maps .
Miles better than BMW's poor effort on MK4 and CCC IDrive.

This is a photo of IGO 8 in my old Golf
