Spring cleaning....

Post by Bigrichw » Mon Apr 16, 2018 6:42 pm

So I've had this for about 4 months now. It's a great car, it's effortlessly powerful and the V8 is sublime. I gave her a good clean at the weekend, used Poorboys and Collinite, and Autoglym for the plastics. I am over the moon with the results. I've replaced the kidney grills with gloss black and I am just awaiting a full LED pack for Angel eyes and interior. I am also considering a subtle exhaust mod as I think it's a tad too quiet. My mate has a e53 4.8 and his exhaust sounds much better. I also see there is a SC upgrade making 525bhp, but as tempting as that is, I think a X5M would be a more sensible option.

Hi

Definitely a good job getting all clean.

Re going the SC route it may be worth getting an insurance quote first as some companies I've had have said no to any mods, where as others are okay.

However, it is tempting to go that route but an early X5M E70 can be had from around 20k but do have higher mileage so worth thinking about and they have 555bhp.

Also I have seen a few on the market which have then been mapped at 600 and one even up to 650bhp, but I shyed away from that one as it's probably pushing it a little and I guess I wouldn't get a BMW warranty on it.
