Hi,

Decided after a couple of months now owning my 2004 e53 i would take it to the garage for a niggling couple of bits, whilst there i asked him to run diagnostics on it ...... Starting to wish i did not as result in 4 pages of print offs  :'(

Slowly working my bank account to fix all known issues, but got me thinking it might be handy owning a diagnostic reader.

Any recommendations on ones to buy? ideally one that gives the full story not just an error code, and also ideally i can send results to a PC and print it off. Benefit also will be able to reset the service lights.

Not sure if any of the above if possible, but if anyone knows, its you guys.

After the code read did you take it for a 5 mile drive and then re-read the codes ??..if not most of the codes are probably historic...never deleted when the problems were fixed in the past....if your a novice Carsoft diagnostis or Carly is the way to go.
