I'd love to do something like that, but I don't have the patience. I like instant results!
My mate bought a Mk1 golf for £2500 last year that was halfway to becoming a show car, just needed a few things doing and a full paint job. A year later and he sold it for £700.
Someone got a great bargain at his expense. He just lost interest in the project (probably like the original owner of the Speedster you bought!)
