Silly Question I hope!
I have recently purchased a 56 plate X5 3.0d and every time i lock or unlock the car a loud fan like noise starts up from under the bonnet over near the passenger side. Not sure how long it lasts as I havent bothered to check yet but at least 30 seconds maybe longer.Is this normal or is something wrong?

Webasto sounds like it. Should only do it when cold though ...
